Important information
There is a number of important things that you should consider,
before placing the 1st order. Below we provide a few guidelines and
useful information.
Minimum Quantities.
We do not impose minimum quantities on our customers. The minimum
order quantity depends on the fabric minimum quantity.
Most fabric mills accepts 300 yards per colour for sales samples at
a surcharge of 30-35%. For bulk production, the typical minimum
quantity is 1,000 yards per colour and 3,000 yards per order. 1,000
yards is equivalent to approximately 600 shirts, 500 trousers or 400
jackets depending of the style.
Lead times.
Our fabric mills are generally speaking asking for 35 days lead time
for dyeing. For transport of the fabric from the mill to the garment
factory, we include 10 days. The CM lead time (processing) at our
factories is 30 days. Thus the total garment lead time is 75 days
from receipt of L/C.
Export Quotas.
Approximately 55% of all garment export from Vietnam goes to quota
free markets such as Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Korea. The
balance value of 45% is exported to Canada, EU and USA. Below, we
provide some additional information about export to selective
markets.
Australia.
There are no restrictions on the export.
Canada.
The quantity of garment exported from Vietnam to Canada is
controlled by export quotas.
EU.
Export of garment from Vietnam to the EU is to some extent
controlled by export quotas. The number of product categories
restricted by export quotas have fortunately been reduced in the
last few years to only 29 categories in 2001. At the same time the
quota allocation to Vietnam for export to EU has been significantly
increased. In 2005 the quota restrictions are expected to be fully
removed.
